iRemember- Remembering Steve Jobs .

It's taken me a while to make this post. The reason, I don't know. But one thing I know for sure. The world has lost a visionary, a creative genius, the kind of person who truly is one in a million. Steven Paul Jobs. The man behind the half bitten apple. The man who redefined how we would use of phones and how they would make them. The man who made a Phone do more than just make and receive calls. The man who put portable in portable music players .

This is not a post to highlight the life and times of Steve jobs. A blogpost can't do justice to that. This is a tribute. A post to bid adieu. To say goodbye. One last time .

No matter what anyone says, there is one indisputable fact. He was one of the greatest creative geniuses of recent times. His visions for the phones of the future, nobody else had.
When the iPhone first came out, it was an instant hit for a reason. And it was not because of the brand name of apple but because of the fact that it took phone technology and usability to a level nobody anticipated. With every new iPhone, the cellphone evolution process becomes a revolution process.
 
Today cloud computing has become a domestic reality through iCloud. In 1997, Steve jobs had spoken about something exactly like it. 14 years ago, a dream. Today a reality that helps millions of apple users protect their data from crashes. Dreamer? No. Visionary .

 I still can't digest the fact that he is gone. For the past week, I have been in total shock, as have been other Steve jobs admirers. 5th of October. A day when the world lost the apple of it's eye .

 Steve jobs. You will be missed. A lot of tributes from a lot of people have poured in for him . If apple called the new iPhone, 4S meaning iPhone 4 Steve, it is the best tribute of them all. No doubt. And like president Obama said "There may be no greater tribute to Steve's success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented".
Thank you Steve, for being an inspiration, a mentor. This post is for you, wherever you are. And as a tribute, I make this post from my iPod touch. Yes I am making a blogpost from my portable music player. Need I say more?

Have you seen it rain? I mean really rain. I mean the kind that starts with some grandfatherly clouds with their grey hair and cloudy beard moving overhead at the kind of pace that only grandparents move? They’re not slow, strictly speaking. They look like immovable objects who’d really rather not be moved. Those clouds. The kind that grow bigger and darker by the time you’ve made some tea to enjoy by the window. They’re not bursting at the seams quite yet. They’re biding their time. Just hanging out and watching the baby sparrows learning to fly and the humans below scurrying around to find shelter before the downpour. The only ones who aren’t, are some kids playing football. The sparrows aren’t retreating just yet either. The breeze is now a little more brisk than a moment ago. It’s brought with it that familiar petrichor which makes me want to step outside and raise my face to the clouds, arms outstretched like we used to as kids. 21 days for each other

By the time I post this, India would've started day 1 of a 21 day curfew. It's an insane idea which will not just inconvenience a lot of people but also throw lives into disarray. The economics of it is of course terrible but the human costs are much more severe. Lots of people will be out of jobs, out of their homes, hungry and unable to access basic resources. We will hear heartbreaking stories about people who are beaten up by the cops for no real reason. We will hear about the ridiculous lack of capacity at government hospitals. There's no denying that for the foreseeable future, we are going to hurt just as the rest of the world has. There is nothing "right" about this decision to confine people to their homes and, in many cases, to the streets. And now imagine all those exact same consequences for all of those people but with the additional burden of a virus that, as of today, has no cure or vaccine. India is an unenviable situation.
